Welcome to the website of the VOC Foundation (Cabo).
Founded in 1995 in the Castle of Good Hope as a conservation body situated in Cape Town with the following aims:
Safeguard VOC Heritage, Legacy and Memory
Conserve tangible and intangible heritage, eg artefacts such as buildings, wrecks, documents and porcelain from the period
Cultivate interest in the VOC period at the Cape (1652-1795) [and its global legacy].
Conduct and Publish research and disseminate information about the VOC, locally and overseas
Promote the VOC-derived culture, language, and traditions of the Cape of Good Hope peoples and their descendants the People of South Africa
Promote VOC cultural tourism.
